Watch Now Free with Ads THE TOWN WITHOUT HALLOWEEN Full Film; Ghoulies Meets Goonies + Reviews

The Town Without Halloween is currently streaming free with ads on Tubi and Youtube. The 2024 independent family friendly horror film is an 80’s-style homage to all those small creature features from back in the day (like Gremlins, Critters, Troll, Munchies, Hobgoblins). It's described as a combination of Ghoulies meets The Goonies.

SYNOPSIS: In a town rich in Halloween traditions, a disgruntled Mayor organizes a plan to cancel Halloween. Enter a group of teens that uncover the true intentions of the Mayor who has discovered an ancient artifact hidden deep below the city and conjuring an army of creatures to help him realize his ultimate plan of immortality and unlocking powers to control the dark forces that are encompassing the town. The teens quickly realize that the townspeople are being transformed into the slimy, toothy creatures bred to cause destruction. Will the teens be able to restore order in the town and save Halloween, or will the Mayor turn the entire town into his evil minions and obtain the ultimate power. All will be told in "The Town Without Halloween."

Co-written, shot, edited, and directed by Jacob Ennis (Stash, Red River, Haunted Kentucky: Spirits of the Bluegrass, and Kill Granny Kill!), co-written, produced, and edited by Gregory W. Brock (Shoot the Moon, Point Pleasant, Red River, and The Killbillies) and stars teens Adi Loehe, Ansley Trivedi, Ayden Payne, Leonard Sandifer, Roman Scott and Sonny Burnette as Mayor Wembly.

Jack-O's Review: "More of a 80's kid's adventure film than straight horror. Love the openings credits sequence, old b&w horror movies scenes cut with Halloween scenes from the film, very much like the opening of Ernest Scared Stupid. Lots of great colorful Halloween atmosphere but the acting is really flat, I didn't feel anything for the characters. The special fx are bad. The Niahamas, the Ghoulies-type monster's arms and legs don't really move, its just someone holding the doll from the back and bouncing it around. Looks like there is alot of fake really positive reviews for the film at IMDb and Amazon, I would really not give it a 9/10 like they say. I'll give it one more star for Halloween vibes and opening credits for a total of ★★ out of five. Fair." @trickhorrortreater

"The acting in this one is very well done. The entire cast delivers exceptional performances. The film has a lot of great characters that are very memorable and enjoyable to watch but it’s the film’s young cast that makes it stand out... The movie has so much going on and while the title is related to the story, it doesn't do it any justice. I absolutely love the occult angle and when you toss in the little monsters like this one did then you have me hooked. Personally, I feel like these little delights didn't get enough screen time and could have been a bigger part of the story... Finally, the film has a lot of practical effects but those looking for gore and a lot of carnage will be very disappointed. We do get some make-up effects along with some fun looking puppets. While they are stiff and don't show a lot of motion, I still enjoyed them and hope that if we get a sequel they are updated... Overall, The Town Without Halloween isn't going to be for everyone. However, fans of shows like Eerie, Indiana and Big Wolf on Campus will appreciate this light hearted horror. Check it out." ★★★ HorrorSociety.com

"Everything about this film comes across as the work of a rookie. One on a tight budget as well. I couldn't find out how much Town cost, but “27 cents” becomes my guess. Scarce funds doesn't doom a movie to failure, of course. The problem with Town is that everything about it looks and feels cheap. We get actors with no talent. The performances veer from “over the top” and “painfully flat”, with nothing between those poles. Effects that seem like somebody's cousin made them in his garage over a weekend - and somebody's unskilled cousin at that. While I don’t expect ILM-level material, the work here comes across as laughable. The omnipresent score telegraphs everything, and editing joins scenes in an awkward manner. Shot choices seem perplexing and stiff. Town wants to offer a family-friendly holiday movie that gives us a mix of Goonies and Gremlins. It ends up as a nearly unwatchable mess." "The Town Without Halloween is a nice homage to 80’s horror and all those small monster features from back in the day. It kinda has a Ghoulies meets The Goonies vibe to it. It opens up with a creative title sequence... one of the more impressive things about this small independent holiday horror feature. It actually has some solid performances... The Town Without Halloween has a great fall atmosphere to it. The little creatures add something interesting to this. The small budget special fx are much better than expected and it adds to it’s small budget charm. There’s a good mix of comedy with all the horror. It’s more of a family friendly type of movie but it does have a few darker moments to it." TodaysHaul.net

"The autumn and Halloween vibes are perfect, and this is like a throwback to Ghoulies for sure, with little, goofy puppet creatures, but it also feels very low budget. The acting is somewhat stilted at times, however, there’s something very endearing about the cast of kids... The kids decide they have to save Halloween, which is always a fun concept, but the film falls short in the excitement arena, which is weird considering there are hooded cult members, little creatures, and zombies at its disposal! There are a few memorable “scary” scenes, but overall, not much happens, and the finale is quite anti-climactic...although I’m pretty sure there was a nod to Ernest Scared Stupid at the end, which is just awesome."
