Trick is a 2019 American slasher written by Todd Farmer & Patrick Lussier, the latter of which also directed the film. Jamie Kennedy, Omar Epps, Tom Atkins, Ellen Adair, and Kristina Reyes star. Dermot Mulroney was originally cast to play Det. Mike Denver but Omar Epps ended up playing the role in the film. Filming took place in Middletown, Beacon, and Warwick, New York, as well as the Umbra Sound Stages in Newburgh, New York.
SYNOPSIS: On Halloween night in 2015, Patrick "Trick" Weaver massacred his classmates at a costume party. After being arrested, he managed to escape police custody, but not before being shot five times by Detective Mike Denver (Epps). Everyone believes Trick must be dead, but when a masked killer reappears the following Halloween, and every Halloween after that, they realize the nightmare is not over. With Trick wreaking havoc and killing innocent people in increasingly terrifying ways, Denver will stop at nothing to finish what he started and bring the carnage to an end.
BOX OFFICE/DVD-BLU-RAY RELEASE: Trick was released in the United States on October 18, 2019 and earned $31,822 at the global box office. The film was released to DVD and Blu-ray on December 17, 2019.

Haven't seen this and see it is on Hulu so I think I know what I will watch tonight.
ReplyDeleteI rented it when it came out back in 2019, I didn't like the ending. I gave it another watch on Blu-ray a couple of days ago, because I usually like watching a second time, but I felt the exact same way I didn't like the ending. I does have great Halloween scenes and masks though.
DeleteI did watch it yesterday and was hoping to like it more. It was just okay. The ending feels purposefully made to get a sequel, to the film's own detriment.
DeleteYeah I lost interest during the parking garage scene where everyone had face paint on. I agree, it was just okay.
