VHS SYNOPSIS: From deep within the mist of rural myth, he is summoned again from his ancient grave. A dark and hideous ancient evil - the spirit of revenge - Pumpkinhead The Demon of Vengeance.
Called back by a father consumed by a primitive lust to avenge the death of his only son. So begins a nightmare of all consuming terror; a rampage of destruction and obsession with bloody vengeance. Pumpkinhead has risen again! Revenge has a darkside too evil to face!

WIKIPEDIA: Pumpkinhead (AKA "Vengeance the Demon" AKA "Demon Revenge" AKA "The Halloween Demon" AKA "The Halloween Monster") is a 1988 American supernatural horror film starring Lance Henriksen, John D'Aquino, Kerry Remsen and was the directorial debut of special effects artist Stan Winston. Pumpkinhead was inspired by a poem by Ed Justin. Filming took place in Los Angeles, California. The film received mixed reviews, but has built up a cult following in the years since its release. A sequel, entitled Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings, went straight to video in 1994. Two additional sequels were filmed in 2006 as made for television movies that aired on Syfy. "Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes" aired in October 2006, and "Pumpkinhead: Blood Feud" aired on February 10, 2007.

RELEASE: The film was given a limited release theatrically in the United States by United Artists in October 1988 and again in January 1989. In total, it grossed $4,385,516 total at the domestic box office. Then released on VHS in the U.S. by MGM/UA Home Entertainment in May 1989 and again in April 1995. MGM released the film on DVD twice: once in 2000 as a standard edition and again in 2008 in a 20th Anniversary Edition featuring an audio commentary and over an hour of featurettes. A Blu-ray was released by Scream Factory on September 9, 2014.
