SYNOPSIS from IMDBb.com: An intellectually disabled man is unjustly accused of attacking a young girl. Disguised as a scarecrow, he hides in a cornfield, only to be hunted down and shot. Later, after it is revealed he saved the girl from a vicious dog attack, members of the search posse are killed by a mysterious scarecrow.
A made-for-tv horror film that premiered on CBS Friday, October 24, 1981, directed by Frank De Felitta with a script written by J.D. Feigelson, who is later credited as creator of the entire 'Killer Scarecrow' horror subgenre because of this film. Feigelson's original intent was to make an independent feature, but his script was bought by CBS for television; despite this, only minor changes were made to the original screenplay. The film stars Charles Durning, Tonya Crowe, Larry Drake, Lane Smith, Claude Earl Jones, Robert F. Lyons, Jocelyn Brando, Richard McKenzie, Ivy Jones, Tom Taylor, Alice Nunn.
